GLASGOW —

Virginia Fulscher Brathall

HORSE CAVE – Virginia Fulscher Brathall, 86, of Horse Cave, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1927, in Davenport, Iowa, to the late Leroy and Capitola Benell Fulscher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laren Brathall.

Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with burial to follow. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under direction of Winn Funeral Home of Horse Cave.



Verna Blair Logsdon

MUNFORDVILLE – Verna Blair Logsdon, 62, of Munfordville, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at her home.  

Mrs. Logsdon was born in Aledo, Ill.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Logsdon and her mother, Rebecca Blair, of Mount Sherman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph M. Blair.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Brother Ed Montgomery officiating.  Burial will be in Logsdon Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Gene Lynn

GLASGOW – Gene Lynn, 84, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

He was the son of the late Lacy and Ellie Sears Smith Lynn. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retiree of Ford Motor Company in Livonia, Mich. since 1983. He was a devoted and loving family man and loved the outdoors, including fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Fant Lynn; two daughters, Julia Hura and husband Larry, of Inkster, Mich., and Barbara Masterton and husband Dennis, of Wayne, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jarrod Hura, Corinna Johnson and husband Jim, and Jaime Hura; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Johnson, Kiera Hura, Jackson Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Braelyn Hura; two sisters, Wynona (Kenneth) Young and Marianna (Mike) Harlow; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and George Smith, and three sisters, Geneva Jones, Freda Graven and Rossie Patterson. He will be greatly missed and remembered always with our love.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BOWLING GREEN – Charles L. “Cotton” Cowles, 75, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.



TOMPKINSVILLE – Evie Janelle Bartley Conkin, 83, of Tompkinsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Tompkinsville.



MUNFORDVILLE – Judy Faye Mabe Riggs, 63, of Munfordville, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Brooks Funeral Home. Interment will be at Upton Cemetery in Upton.



LOUISVILLE – Dollye Shives Simpson, 92, of Louisville, formerly of Beaumont, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Beaumont United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Beaumont Cemetery.



GLASGOW – Retired U.S. Army veteran Levy Smith Jr., 85, of Glasgow, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with military honors by D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow to follow at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.



MUNFORDVILLE – Charles Edward Stinson, 70, of Munfordville, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Northtown Baptist Church with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
