Mildred Dilley

GLASGOW – Mildred Dilley, 93, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at Barren County Health Care.

She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Clyde and Minnie Lee Ford Smith. Mrs. Dilley was a retired nurse assistant at T. J. Samson Community Hospital and had attended Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four sons, Freddie (Phyllis) Dilley, of Cave City, Danny (Carole) Dilley, of Palm Coast, Fla., David (Debbie) Dilley, of Gatesville, Texas and Johnny (Barbara) Dilley, of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren, Timothy and Richard Dilley, Tamara Gooden, Chris and Valerie Dilley, Trina Bernhardt, Jamey Dilley, Belinda Greer and Carrie and Craig Dilley; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nell Payne, of Edmonton, Ruth Goodman, of Rich Pond, and Betty Johnson, of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Leon Dilley; a son, Jerry Dilley; two sisters, Dorothy Lowe and Pauline Harlow; five brothers, Joe Lee Smith, Raymond Smith, Cecil Smith, Henry Ford Smith and James Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Dilley.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Friday.

Mr. Ricky Joe Hatcher

EDMONTON – Mr. Ricky Joe Hatcher, 53, of Edmonton, passed away at his home on Wednesday Dec. 18, 2013.

The Barren County native was the son of Rev. Stanley Hatcher and the late Ruth Hatcher. Ricky was also preceded by death by one daughter, Crystal Hazen, and his father-in-law, Reid Jessie.

Ricky was saved as a young man at Northtown United Baptist Church and later joined Servent Valley Baptist Church were he remained a member until death.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jessie Hatcher, of Edmonton; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Gary and Brandi Alluis and Joe and Rachel Dotson, both of Edmonton; six grandchildren, Scott, Felicia, and Tanner Alluis, Lonnie Grider, and Alexis and Jessie Brooke Dotson; one great-granddaughter, Tracey Grider; one brother, Eugene Hatcher and wife Betty Jo Hatcher; one sister, Genese Hatcher Dial and husband Jeff Dial, all of Cave City. Ricky is also survived by his mother-in- law, Helen Jessie, of Edmonton, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Garrett Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.


SUMMER SHADE – Freddie N. Burton, 77, of Summer Shade, formerly of Adair County, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.
