Robert David ‘Robby’ Grinstead
GLASGOW – Robert David “Robby” Grinstead, 65, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Barren County Health Care, after a long, brave battle with cancer.
He was the son of the late Sewell and Doris Rutledge Grinstead.
Robby was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a self-employed painter and wallpaper hanger. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Brenda Dale Grinstead; one son, Andrew “Andy” Dale Grinstead, and wife Aimee, of Glasgow; one brother, Stephen “Pete” Grinstead (Susie), of Wilmore; two sisters, Anne Taylor (Buddy), of Glasgow and Becky Grant (Doc), of Greensburg; mother and father-in-law, Bubby and Norma Lyons, of Glasgow; three uncles, James Lee (Eula) Grinstead, of Glasgow, Malcolm (Jane) Grinstead, of Cynthiana, and David (Debra) Rutledge, of Crossville, Tenn.; one aunt, Vera Guthrie, of Bowling Green; two special friends, Ricky Turner and John Coulter, of Glasgow; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Grace Grinstead and Robert and Lottie Rutledge, and a special nephew, Darren McGuire.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

TOMPKINSVILLE – I.C. Short, 91, of Tompkinsville, passed away Sunday, Dec.16, 2012, at Monroe Health and Rehab Center.
I.C. was born in Tompkinsville Feb. 6, 1921, a son of the late Ava (Tinsley) and Milton Short. I.C. was a farmer and a member of Mount Gilead Church of Christ.
I.C. is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth (Hurd) Short; one son, Jerry (Brenda) Short, of Tompkinsville; one sister, Evelyn Grider, of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ava (Tinsley) and Milton Short, and four sisters, Lorene McWhweter, Nina Faye Turner, Kathleen Wallen, and Olene Coe.
Funeral services at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, will be 12 noon, Wednesday, Dec. 19, with Tim McHenry officiating.
Visitation, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, 4 to 9 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home and Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, 6 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
BOWLING GREEN — Ruth Aylene Carpenter, 60, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
