GLASGOW — Byron Wayne Carpenter

BOWLING GREEN – Byron Wayne Carpenter, 71, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

He was a member of the NRA, Green River Gun Club, and loved hunting and being outdoors. He retired from General Motors in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Elinor Roll Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda DeVasher Carpenter, of Bowling Green; son, David Carpenter, of Yorktown, N.Y.; three daughters, Eileen Banscher (John), of Yorktown, N.Y., Beverly Hood Pedigo, of Glasgow, and Teressa Hood, of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Tara Landrum (Grant), Tasha Cotter (Daniel), Tyler Pedigo, Nick Peters, Daniel Moffitt, Brianna Banscher, and Amber Banscher; great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Landrum and a brother, Robert Carpenter, of New York.

Visitation will be 5 until 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday with funeral at 3 p.m. Sunday, all at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.

Alta Christine Hutchison Daniels

FOUNTAIN RUN – Alta Christine Hutchison Daniels, 72, of Fountain Run, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at the home of her son in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.

She was the wife of the late Rex Daniels, and the daughter of the late Linza Hutchison and Laura Cross Hutchison.

Visitation will be Saturday after 10 a.m. at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Neal Cemetery in Monroe County.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Burnell Turner Emberton

TOMPKINSVILLE – Burnell Turner Emberton, 88, of Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.

She was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Monroe County, to the late Clyde Turner and Flossie Proffitt Turner. She was a retired factory worker, homemaker and quilter. She was a member of Sandlick Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Golden Thimbles and the widow of R.H. Emberton, who preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1986. They were married Sept. 5, 1942, in Ringold, Ga.

She is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law: Roger Ted and Debra Emberton, of Tompkinsville, David Leon and Kim Emberton, of Celina, Tenn., Jimmy Darrell and Joyce Emberton, of Tompkinsville, Albert H. and Dannetta Emberton of Tompkinsville, Morris Lynn and Wanda Emberton, of Glasgow, Joe Edward and Latisha Emberton, of Fountain Run, Michael Wayne and Linda Emberton, of Tompkinsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Gearldine and William Pennington, of Tompkinsville; three brothers, Rex Turner, Eugene Turner and Glendall Turner, all of Tompkinsville; three sisters, Geneva Jennings and Christine Birge, both of Tompkinsville, Dean Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mossie Ree Shirley.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

Blake Franklin Cole Hyman

HENDERSON, Tenn. –  Blake Franklin Cole Hyman, 19, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Hendersonville, Tenn.

He was the son of the late William F. (Billy) Hyman and Barbara Hyman Trawick, (Michael).

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery #2.

Visitation will be 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
