John Robert (Bob) Rose
GLASGOW – John Robert (Bob) Rose, 79, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Manchester. He was a son of the late George and Ethel Hardin Rose, and was a retired automobile mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Branham Rose; four daughters, Carolyn (Jerry) Fields, of Manchester, Sharon (Todd) Oliver, of Glasgow, Hannah (Timmy) Lloyd, of Summer Shade and Pat Beauchamp, of Glasgow; one son, Dwayne Rose, of Glasgow; three sisters, Pricsella Rice, of Washington, Irma Rose, Oregon and Lois Rose, of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Mud Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
HORSE CAVE – Margie Waters, 84, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Green Meadows Health Care in Mount Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Creed Stovall and Audrey Frances Cole Stovall, and her husband, Sylvester (Toby) Waters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 2 to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Thursday, until service time at the funeral home.
Brother Robert Hermon Wilkins
GLASGOW – Brother Robert Hermon Wilkins, 78, of Glasgow, passed away Saturday Aug. 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Luray, Tenn., to his late parents Gomer and Addie Lee Stout Wilkins on Oct. 11, 1934. Brother Hermon married his wife of 59 years, Eulelia, in 1954 and was ordained into the ministry in 1951 at the age of 17. He then attended Union University for religious studies and the University of Tennesse for engineering. Brother Hermon pastored churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and also served as a home missionary. He loved his family, church family and had love for everyone and enjoyed gardening, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and summer vacations with his children and grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Gomer Wilkins.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eulelia Holland Wilkins, of Glasgow; four children, Jocquinna Bailey, of Tompkinsville, Robert Michael Wilkins and wife Sheila, of Glasgow, Stella Lee Downs and husband Mike, of Glasgow, Gregory Dale Wilkins and wife Sharon, of Bardstown; eight grandchildren, Justin Matthews and wife Katlin, Ashley Ethridge and husband Zachary, Brandon Wilkins, Micah Tracy and husband Jarred, Glenn Downs and wife Tara, Bridget Downs, Jonathan Wilkins and Sophia Wilkins; five great-grandchildren, Melanie, Lane, Eli Wilkins, Ava Matthews and Drake Ethridge; sister, Jo Ann Inman and husband Don, of Jackson, Tenn.; brother, Jerry Wilkins, of Medon, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Daphne Wilkins, of Medon, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews
Funeral service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with burial to follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in Clover Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Medon, Tenn., under the direction of Winn Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
