Murl Edward Beckner
ROCKY HILL – Murl Edward Beckner, 96, of Rocky Hill, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Bowling Green Nursing & Rehab.
He was the son of the late William Issac and Lallie Mable Hardison Beckner, and husband of the late Lily Belle Britt Beckner.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
Orthie Lee Bull
GLASGOW – Orthie Lee Bull, 97, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.
A native of Cumberland County, she was the daughter of James Edward and Altie Sharp Brown. Mrs. Bull was a homemaker and a member of South Green Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Marcia Rigney, Helen Russell, Runelle Jackson and husband Earl, and Betty Green and husband Mark, all of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Dr. John Rigney and wife Sandi, Rick Russell and wife Lisa, Eddie Russell and wife Carla, Nancy Jackson Turner and husband Jay, Michele Jackson Getic and husband Scott, all of Glasgow, and Susan Jackson Johnson and husband Kevin, of Benton; five great-grandchildren, Dr. Stacia Rigney Watkins and husband Cody, of Nashville, Tenn., Emily Russell Dugard, Adam Russell and wife Raven, Aaron Russell, all of Glasgow, and Krista George Duckett and husband Jason, of Bowling Green; two great-great grandsons, Jamison Russell Dugard, of Glasgow, and Gavin Lane Matthews, of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Johnny Clay Bull; one great-grandson, Andrew Clay Johnson, of Benton; one brother, Fred Brown; five half-brothers, John Brown, Ed Brown, Walter Brown, Bedford Brown and Charlie Brown; one half-sister, Cassie Brown Cary; and one son-in-law, Glenn Russell, of Glasgow.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
