RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. – Stephen Cavanaugh, 59, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his home.
He is survived by his fianceé, Barbara Baxer.
He was the son of the late Hayden Cavanaugh and Thelma Baker Cavanaugh.
Visitation is in progress at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel, in Gamaliel, and will continue after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 31, 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen.
MUNFORDVILLE – Opal Dixon, 96, of Munfordville, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Elizabethtown Nursing Rehab in Elizabethtown.
The Bonnieville native was born June 23, 1916, to the late L.G. and Dovie Brackett McDowell.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Dixon.
The family will receive friends from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Brooks Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Brother Ben Benningfield and Brother Jeff Mayse officiating. Interment will be at Memory Park Cemetery, Bonnieville.
Mary Mildred Huff Grissom
SHEPHERDSVILLE – Mary Mildred Huff Grissom, 64, of Shepherdsville, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
She was a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Slaughter Huff. She is survived by her husband, Harold Grissom.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Roy Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in Beaumont Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery.
Sara Hudgens Miles
BOWLING GREEN – Sara Hudgens Miles, 84, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at University Hospital in Louisville.
She was the daughter of the late E.D. Hudgens and Frances Miller Hudgens.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Miles.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 1.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
HORSE CAVE – Lillian Robinson, 81, of Park City, formerly of Horse Cave, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Robinson was a native of Hart County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Watt Houtchins and Dora Lyle Houtchins.
She is survived by her husband, Jack L. Robinson, of Park City.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, with burial in Houk Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 until 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
