Ruth Lane Crowe
TOMPKINSVILLE – Ruth Lane Crowe, 86, of Tompkinsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Monroe Health Care in Tompkinsville.
She was the wife of the late Carlos Crowe, and daughter of the late Thomas B. Lane and Pauline Webb Lane.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept.19, and after 7:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Teddy C. Freeman
BOWLING GREEN – Teddy C. Freeman, 67, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Greenview Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Warren “W.G.” and Edith Creek Freeman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Assembly of God, Smiths Grove Scottsville Road, Smiths Grove, with burial in Hays Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Hardy & Son Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia Louise Moss
GLASGOW – Virginia Louise Moss, 73, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at her residence.
Born in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Leonard M. and Sady Goldia McIntyre Tolle. Ms. Moss was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Moss and wife Tammy, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Carolyn Garrett and husband Tony, of Fairview, Tenn. and Sandra Vincent and husband Jeff, of Madison, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Shirley Mae Welch Payne
TOMPKINSVILLE – Shirley Mae Welch Payne, 76, of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Shirley was born in Tompkinsville on Aug. 23, 1937, a daughter of the late Alene (Jones) and Earl Welch.
On Nov. 22, 1953, in Celina, Tenn., she married Stanley Gene Payne, who precedes her in death.
She was a member of Mud Lick Church of Christ East and was a homemaker.
Shirley is survived by five daughters, Loretta Ross, of Tompkinsville, Anita Kay Edwards, of Glasgow, Diana Olivarez, of Okeechobee, Fla., Pamela Godbold, of Okeechobee, Fla., and Bonnie Payne; a son, Danny Payne, of Okeechobee, Fla.; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Pettyjohn, and Barbara Silver, both of Indianapolis, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Palmoar; and two brothers, Larry and Harold Welch.
Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, with Bradley Shaw officiating. Visitation is Friday after noon and Saturday 6 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee, Fla., on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Poplar Log Cemetery in Barren County or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
