GAMALIEL — Dennis "Dent" England, 93, of Gamaliel, passed away Friday,
 Feb. 7, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn.

He was born in Monroe County, on May 5, 1920, to the late Harlan Ellis England and Ocia Elizabeth Taylor England.

He was a farmer and a WWII
 veteran with the US Army. He and his wife, Marjorie Centers England, were 
united in marriage on June 17, 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Centers England, of Gamaliel; two 
sons, Dennis England (Paulette), of Hermitage Springs, Tenn. and Tim England 
and his wife Angela, of Macon County, Tenn.; one daughter, Detra Owens, of 
Gamaliel; one sister, Ella Westbrook, of Brandon, Miss., six 
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Jack 
England, J.O. England, Raymond D. England, and infant Clifford England; two
 sisters, Florence Whitis and Elease Burgess, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in Gamaliel Cemetery in Gamaliel. Military rites will be performed at
graveside by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow.

Visitation is in progress and will continue after
7:30 a.m. on Monday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel.

Memorials are suggested to Barren River Area Development District, in-home services and Gamaliel Cemetery. Memorials may be left at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel.
