Violet A. Forrest
GLASGOW – Violet A. Forrest, 85, of Glasgow, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Bert and Viola Richey Copas and wife of the late Lyron Forrest. Mrs. Forrest was a seamstress at Handmacher for 40 years and was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her great-grandson.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Kim Landrum and husband Bobby, of Glasgow; a great-grandson, Chase Landrum, of Glasgow; a sister, Willodean DeYoung, of Franklin; two brothers, Franklin Copas and Danny Copas, both of Bowling Green and two brothers-in-law, Wendell (Patsy) Forrest, of Louisville, and Carl (Rebecca) Forrest, of Glasgow.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Owen; a son, Steve Forrest; five sisters, Iva Haynes, Virginia Lowe, Annis Cole, Doris Copas and Hilda Glass; and two brothers, Bert Dartin Copas and Clinton Copas.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Opal B. Hoover
BOWLING GREEN – Opal B. Hoover, 81, of Bowling Green, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Christian Home Care in Bowling Green.
Her arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
Howard Lee Mizell
GLASGOW – Howard Lee Mizell, 66, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late William and Delzie Mizell. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Maxine Clarkson Mizell and Eva Pearl Murley Mizell. Mr. Mizell was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his special friend and companion Nancy Young, of Glasgow; special friends, Shane, Rachel and Zack Young, all of Glasgow; and several cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mamie Ann Philpott
LOUISVILLE – Mamie Ann Philpott, 86, of Louisville, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie Pearl Dennis Philpott.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
