MOUNT VERNON — Ralph Shirley Bell, 74, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was an Edmonton native, born Oct. 2, 1939, son of the late German and Irene Shirley Bell. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam era veteran, retired master electrician and contractor, member of the Baptist faith and resident of Rockcastle County for the past 26 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Regina Ponder Bell; five children, Steven (Susan) Bell, Mark Bell, Brandon Bell, Josh Bell, Jenna (Tyler) Ingram; one brother, Jimmy (Janet) Bell; seven grandchildren, Erica, Charlie, John, Braxton, Cayson, Avery, Emmalyn.
Funeral service will be noon, Friday, Jan. 31, at Reppert Funeral Home, 110 N. Broadway, Berea, Ky., with Brother Randall Adams officiating. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Graveside committal service will be 5 p.m. Friday (4 p.m. central time) at Union Chapel Cemetery in Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to help with the funeral cost.
