GLASGOW — Ruth Massey Cary

BOWLING GREEN — Ruth Massey Cary, 96, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Finis R. and Florence Stephens Massey and wife of the late Irvin Leslie Cary.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today.



James Herman Cheek

SCOTTSVILLE — James Herman Cheek of Scottsville died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at his residence in Scottsville.

He was the son of the late Kermer Cheek and Celia Tedder Cheek.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Allen County Memorial Gardens.



Katie Nichole Dawson

HENDERSON — Katie Nichole Dawson, 29, of Henderson and formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, at her residence.

Katie was born in Glasgow on Sept. 4, 1983, a daughter of Bruce Alan Scott and the late Kimberly Kay Scott.

Funeral Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, with Bradley Emmert and Laura Jane Bowe speaking at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Visitation is 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Chloerene Anderson Dubree

SUMMER SHADE — Chloerene Anderson Dubree, 90, of Persimmon Community in Monroe County, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Monroe Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was the daughter of the late Trot and Maggie Bartley Anderson and the widow of Marshall Dubree.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Lewis Blythe and Brother Bob Norman officiating. Burial will be in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3:30 p.m.



Benjamin Darrell Johnson

SCOTTSVILLE — Benjamin Darrell Johnson, 68, of Scottsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1945 to the late Benjamin Nimow Johnson and the late Elzada Ozella Toye Johnson in Ingram, Ark.

Darrell was a member of Park City Baptist Church, past Master of McLure Lodge #539 F&AM, American Legion and UAW #2164. He served in Vietnam and was a Naval Reserve veteran. He retired from the GM Corvette plant and was a bus driver and substitute teacher for the Allen County School System.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Melinda Marie Francis Johnson, of Scottsville; one son, Benjamin Darrell Johnson II (June), of Portland, Tenn.; two daughters, Klara Dawn Mann of Bowling Green, and Melissa Lynn Greenfield (Tony) of Scottsville; four stepsons, Donald James Francis (Jenny) of Park City and Larry Dean Francis (Connie) of Cave City; one sister, Kathy Cooper of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one step-son, Herbert Lee Francis and one brother, James Gary Johnson.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home with graveside military rites at Bon Ayr Cemetery.

Masonic service will be 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home.

SCOTTSVILLE — Mary Frances Meador, 91, of Scottsville, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Center in Scottsville.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Strode Funeral Home Scottsville Chapel with burial to follow in Hickory Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Scottsville. Visitation will be noon Saturday, Jan. 25, and after 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

SUMMER SHADE — Pernie McCoy, 92, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Monroe County Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McMurtrey Funeral Home.



Stephen Dale McKinney

SULPHUR WELL — Stephen Dale McKinney, 62, of Sulphur Well, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.   

He was the son of the late Damon and Bernice Jewell McKinney. He was a truck driver and member of the Greater Vision Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Deanie Caffee McKinney, of Sulphur Well; one son, Aaron and wife Selisa McKinney, of Sulphur Well; two brothers, Terry and wife Doris McKinney, of Edmonton and Dennis Lee and wife Annette McKinney, of Florida; and one grandchild McKinnley Grace. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Pink Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Pauline Peden, 94, of Glasgow, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Barren County Health Care in Glasgow. Her arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

GLASGOW – Easton Lane Michael P’Pool, stillborn son of Alexus P’Pool and Brandon Childress, was born Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.

In addition to his parents he is survived by maternal grandparents, Lisa and Foran Meredith, of Glasgow; paternal grandparents, Bonita and Mike Childress; maternal great-grandmother, Sue Hawkins of Hopkinsville; an aunt, Delani P’Pool, of Glasgow; and an uncle, Josh Childress, of Munfordville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Danny P’Pool.

No services are scheduled at this time. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Robert Renick

OAKLAND — William Robert Renick, 54, of Oakland, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his residence.

He was son of the late James Robert “Bobby” Renick and his mother, Barbara Doss Renick, who survives. He was the husband of Belinda Moyers Renick.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

CAVE CITY – Charles Henry Barlow, 73, of Cave City, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Allen Seminary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Allen Seminary Cemetery in Hardyville.



TOMPKINSVILLE – Nelda Francis Broady Bruton, 87, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Monroe County Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with interment at Monroe County Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.



GLASGOW – Constance B. Crews, 93, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in  Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.



NASHVILLE Tenn. – Randall “Randy” Earl Hedges Jr., died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home with burial in Clementsville Cemetery in Clay County, Tenn.



SCOTTSVILLE – Anthony “Tony” Wayne Jessie, 56, of Scottsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.



GLASGOW – Gary Lee Knopp, 72, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood, Ind., with private burial in Ferguson Cemetery in Almont, Mich.



GLASGOW – Gene “Ole Dad” Lynn, 84, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



TOMPKINSVILLE – Luke Linus Winter, 18, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Monroe County High School gymnasium, with burial in Neal Cemetery at Flippin.
