BOWLING GREEN — Ruth Massey Cary, 96, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Finis R. and Florence Stephens Massey and wife of the late Irvin Leslie Cary.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today.
James Herman Cheek
SCOTTSVILLE — James Herman Cheek of Scottsville died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at his residence in Scottsville.
He was the son of the late Kermer Cheek and Celia Tedder Cheek.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Allen County Memorial Gardens.
Katie Nichole Dawson
HENDERSON — Katie Nichole Dawson, 29, of Henderson and formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, at her residence.
Katie was born in Glasgow on Sept. 4, 1983, a daughter of Bruce Alan Scott and the late Kimberly Kay Scott.
Funeral Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, with Bradley Emmert and Laura Jane Bowe speaking at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Visitation is 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Chloerene Anderson Dubree
SUMMER SHADE — Chloerene Anderson Dubree, 90, of Persimmon Community in Monroe County, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Monroe Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the daughter of the late Trot and Maggie Bartley Anderson and the widow of Marshall Dubree.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Lewis Blythe and Brother Bob Norman officiating. Burial will be in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3:30 p.m.
Benjamin Darrell Johnson
SCOTTSVILLE — Benjamin Darrell Johnson, 68, of Scottsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1945 to the late Benjamin Nimow Johnson and the late Elzada Ozella Toye Johnson in Ingram, Ark.
Darrell was a member of Park City Baptist Church, past Master of McLure Lodge #539 F&AM, American Legion and UAW #2164. He served in Vietnam and was a Naval Reserve veteran. He retired from the GM Corvette plant and was a bus driver and substitute teacher for the Allen County School System.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Melinda Marie Francis Johnson, of Scottsville; one son, Benjamin Darrell Johnson II (June), of Portland, Tenn.; two daughters, Klara Dawn Mann of Bowling Green, and Melissa Lynn Greenfield (Tony) of Scottsville; four stepsons, Donald James Francis (Jenny) of Park City and Larry Dean Francis (Connie) of Cave City; one sister, Kathy Cooper of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one step-son, Herbert Lee Francis and one brother, James Gary Johnson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home with graveside military rites at Bon Ayr Cemetery.
Masonic service will be 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home.
