Eddie Thomas 'Tommy' Blair
PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Eddie Thomas “Tommy” Blair, 43, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Jan. 8, 2014, at his home at Tyndall Air Force Base.
Tommy was born in Louisville, on Sept. 16,1970, and grew up in Hart County. He was a former member of the United States Marine Corps and was retired from the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer Ilene Blair, on May 9, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas (Jimmy) Blair and Jane Blair.
Tommy is survived by three sons, Jonathan Blair and his wife Katelyn Doud, of Panama City, Fla., and Jacob and Jackson Blair, also of Panama City; one granddaughter, Victoria Ilene Blair; one brother, Tony Blair and his wife Ann, of Glasgow; and one sister, Twila Blair Stinson and her husband Larry, of Scottsville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave with burial to follow in Houk Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Full military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be at Winn Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 8 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday.
BOWLING GREEN – Tommy Coffman, 41, of Bowling Green, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at The Medical Center.
He was the son of Robert L. and Lilla M. Akers Coffman, who survive.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Kimberly Eileen White Godsey
CAVE CITY – Kimberly Eileen White Godsey, 53, of Cave City, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Godsey, of Cave City. She was the daughter of the late Jack Lavon White and Barbara E. Lloyd White.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Cremation was chosen by the family. Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville is in charge of arrangements.
Leland Junior Irwin
GLASGOW – Leland Junior Irwin, 76, of Glasgow, finished his race and has entered into eternity with his savior Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at his residence.
He was the son of the late Leland Irwin and Elnora Ferguson Irwin. He was saved and baptized at Big Meadow Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Powell Irwin; seven children, Gary Irwin, Michael Irwin “Cherri,” David Irwin “Marla,” Steve Irwin “Laura,” Daphne Wood “Bobby,” Chris Irwin “Kimberly,” and Sandra Irwin; 14 grandchildren, Daniel Irwin, Stephanie Fitzgerald, Joshua Irwin, Cody Irwin, Mika Irwin, Anthony Irwin, A. J. Irwin, Jonathan Irwin, Ryan Irwin, Holly Irwin, Colton Irwin, Benjamin Wood, Bethany Wood and Levi Irwin; and five great-grandchildren, Bentley Irwin, Drake Irwin, Addison Irwin, Brianna Irwin and Leighton Fitzgerald.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Irwin; two sisters, Olene Shirrell and Shelia Irwin; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Tucker Irwin and Eli Nathaniel Irwin.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Edward H. Rigdon
CAVE CITY – Edward H. Rigdon, 65, of Cave City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
The Barren County native was born on April 14, 1948, to the late Huston and Mary Fields Rigdon. He was a well-known taxidermist and member of Basil Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Poynter Rigdon, Cave City; a daughter, April Carter; daughter-in-law, April Smith; grandchildren, Jaelyn Carter, Carson Carter, Dalton Vance, Christian Smith and Nolan Carter.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Smith.
Graveside services under the direction of Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Cave City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Claud Owen Turner
HORSE CAVE – Claud Owen Turner, age 63 years, of Horse Cave, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at his residence.
He was the owner and operator of Owen’s Appraisal Service in Horse Cave for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud Amos and Annie Ruth Lohden Turner; a sister, Marilyn Dennison Smith; a brother, Billy Dennison; and his special companion, Eica.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Turner; a daughter, Angie (Mark) Morris, of Nolensville, Tenn.; a son, Brad (Beth) Turner, of Hodgenville; a sister, Helen Trent, of Hodgenville; three brothers, Bobby (Maxine) Turner, of Louisville, Jewell (Carrie Mae) Dennison, of Horse Cave, and Don (Joyce) Turner, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; his sister-in-law, Delores (Daryl) Matthews, of Campbellsville; and three grandsons, Biven Lohden Turner, Baines Robert Turner and Matthew David Morris.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave. Burial will follow in Cave City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and after 10 a.m. Sunday at Winn Funeral Home.
