GLASGOW — Bobby Ray Ammons

BOWLING GREEN – Bobby Ray Ammons, 70, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Virgil Did and Etter Maxine Thompson Ammons.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Malden, Mo. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.

 

George Hessel Baker

SUMMER SHADE – George Hessel Baker, 83, of Summer Shade, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at New Haven at Home, Franklin.

Born in Ocheydan, Iowa, he was the son of the late Hessel George and Emma Hielkema Baker. Mr. Baker was a farmer, a veteran of the Vietnam War and member of Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church,

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Kell and husband Leslie, of Franklin, and Sherry Free Johnson and husband Charles, of Glasgow; one son, Hessel Baker and wife Linda, of Canmer; eight grandchildren, Debra Outler, Dena Hagan, Stacy Johnson, Jennifer Dobson, Jessica Lindsey, Melissa Conley, Lindsey Kell and Derek Kell; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Vanderveen and Thelma Van Gelder, both of Iowa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Angelina Deklenga Baker and Wilma Jean Sims Baker, and one grandchild, Angela Michelle Baker.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Sharon K. Hatcher

CAVE CITY – Sharon K. Hatcher, 56, of Cave City, was called home, Monday, July 22, 2013, in the caring hands of T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

The Barren County native was the daughter of Royce and Elizabeth Hughes Alexander and the wife of Dennis Hatcher. She was a certified nursing aide at Glasgow State Nursing Facility and a member of Basil Chapel Baptist Church.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Hatcher, of Cave City; her two sons, Jason Spencer (Samantha Spencer), of Elizabethtown, and Chad Hatcher (Heather Proffitt), of Glasgow; her two grandsons, Lex Spencer, of Elizabethtown, and Bryson Hatcher, of Glasgow, and one granddaughter, Ryan Elizabeth Spencer, of Elizabethtown; and her parents, Royce and Elizabeth Alexander, Glasgow.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Basil Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Basil Chapel Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

In Revelations, God talks about a believer going to heaven and when they get there they watch over us and cheer us on as if they are in the stand watching a game. She will be forever cheering us on until we meet her in the river of life.
