— Sylvia Rose Travis
TEMPLE HILL – Sylvia Rose Travis, 73, Temple Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. A native of Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Sitarski Wierzba. She was a retired office manager for a court reporting agency and a member of Saint Helen’s Catholic Church. Sylvia was a wonderful daughter, wife, and mother, who put others first and took extremely good care of all her family. She was their best friend and confidante and they will miss her forever.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Terese Uribe, of La Mirada, Calif., and Kimberly Ann Smith of Morristown, Tenn.; four step-sons, William David Travis, Terry Lee Travis, Garry Lynn Travis, and Michael Wayne Travis, all of Summer Shade; five brothers and sisters, Frank J. Wierzba and wife Mary Lee, of Jonesboro, Ark., Richard P. Wierzba and wife Juanita, of Grove, Okla., Harry E. Wierzba and wife Kathleen, of Walcott, Iowa, John R. Wierzba and wife Natalie, of Los Angeles, Kathryn A. Reeves and husband Randy, of Lima, Ohio; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Travis.
Funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Helen’s Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
