GLASGOW — Wyvon P. Cox

CUB RUN – Wyvon P. Cox, 85, of Cub Run, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the home of her son.

The Saronville, Neb., native was the daughter of the late Rienhold Trautmann and the late Esther Nolde Trautmann and wife of the late Everett Cox.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville Chapel. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Berry Cemetery.

Gary Thomas Hamilton

TOMPKINSVILLE – Gary Thomas Hamilton, 69, of Tompkinsville, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his home in Tompkinsville.

He was the son of the late Alex Hamilton and Ermon Whiteside Shirley.

Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in Mount Nebo Cemetery in Tompkinsville.


Cleston F. Howard

GREENFIELD, Ind. – Cleston F. Howard, age 79, of Greenfield, Ind., formerly of Monroe County, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born June 21, 1933, in Monroe County, to the late Alvy Howard and Delphia Rich Howard. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a ladle repairman at International Harvester for 31 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by a longtime companion, Dorothy Moneymaker, of Greenfield, Ind.; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jay Wilson, of Mays, Ind.; two sons, Gregory Howard and Geoffrey Howard, of Indiana; four sisters, Juanita Scott and Dorothy Keys, both of Tompkinsville, Nina Downing, of Indianapolis, Ind., Talega Doolin, of Indianapolis, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Gamaliel Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.

Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Floyd Ray ‘Cotton’ Lay

GLASGOW – Floyd Ray “Cotton” Lay, 74, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at this residence.

He was the son of the late Christal and Gertie Wilson Lay. He was a member of Pine Grove Church and was attending Crossland Community Church.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Brenda J. Glass; two daughters, Teresa Ann Lay Davis (Anthony), of Edmonson County and Michaela Dayle Robertson; Brenda’s children, Kathy Jones (Steve), of Glasgow, Tina Stovall, of Cave City, Johnnie Neal, of Cave City and Todd Neal (Nancy), of Glasgow; three brothers, Dempsey Lay, of Louisville, Aubrey Lay (Wilma), of Edmonson County and Richard Lay (Jennifer), of North Carolina; one sister, Sherry Jane Lay Collins (Lewis), of Oregon; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray Lay; one brother, Frankie Lay; and one grandchild.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.

Edward R. Liggett

BOWLING GREEN – Edward R. Liggett, 86, of Bowling Green, died Sat. Feb. 16, 2013, at Hospice of Southern Ky.

He was the son of the late Edward Liggett and Clara Smith Liggett, and husband of the late Ruth Houdyshelt Liggett and Della Hunt Liggett.

No services will be conducted in Bowling Green, cremation was chosen. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel,

Gary Wayne Martin

GLASGOW – Gary Wayne Martin, 67, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at his home.  

He was the son of the late Maxie and Ruth Dowell Martin.

He is survived by his spouse, Martha Jo Martin, of Glasgow; one daughter, Amanda Lynn (Jared) Duff, of California; one grandchild, Jared Duff Jr., also of California; three brothers, Greg (Ruth) Martin, of Glasgow, Steve (Dorcas) Martin, of Texas and Bruce (Belinda) Martin, of Glasgow; one uncle, Wade Martin, of Louisville and one aunt, Virgina Dowell, of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and two step-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  


Rose Rady

HORSE CAVE – Rose Rady, 84, of Horse Cave, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at her residence in Horse Cave.

She was the daughter of the late Henry Moye and the late Bertie Deitrich Moye.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Rady.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Sunday, March 3, at Horse Cave Christian Church with Brother Ryan Broers officiating. The family has chosen cremation. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville.

Tina Marie Stout

GLASGOW – Tina Marie Stout, 41, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.

She is the daughter of Larry Todd and his wife Doris Moore Todd and Thelma Groce and her husband Bobby.

Beside her parents, she is survived her husband, Marlon Stout; one son, Tanner Stout; one brother, Michael Todd (Heather); one sister, Kim Houchens (Brad); four stepbrothers, Tony Moore (Brandy), Chad Groce (Jenny), Chris Groce and Matt Groce; three stepsisters, Tonya Hampton (Jason), Jeanie Burnett, Samantha Geralds (Benji); nieces and nephews, Logan Houchens, Hayley Todd, Alexis (Lily) Todd and Brittney Wyche.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
