Christopher Scott Combs
GLASGOW – Christopher Scott Combs, 45, of Glasgow died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Glasgow, a son of Maxey B. and Elizabeth Ann Ellis Combs. Mr. Combs owned and operated Combs Service Center at Haywood and he attended Bon Ayr Methodist Church. One of his favorite hobbies was playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Byrd Combs; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Combs of Glasgow; children, Chad Lyons, Shea Jones and Dustin Smith of Glasgow, Jaimi Divine of Russell Springs and Jenee` Divine of Glasgow; his brother, Douglas Combs (Melissa) of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Tyler and Allie Jones, Jarod, Donovan and Serenity Lyons; and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maxey B. Combs, and a brother, Stephen Lee Combs.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Thursday morning until time for the service.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Dartha Harlow Dennis
GLASGOW – Dartha Harlow Dennis, 87, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012. at her home.
She was born and raised in Barren County, the daughter of the late Gillum and Lennie Barbour Harlow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dennis, and together they operated Harlow Hatchery in Glasgow. Dartha was active for many years in girl scholarship and beauty pageants, active in the Republican Women’s Club and helped to establish the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews and their families.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m.
