GLASGOW — Debbie Lynn Decker

SMITHS GROVE – Debbie Lynn Decker, 55, of Smiths Grove, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital, after a sudden illness.

She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Arthur and Delsie Farlee Smith. Debbie was retired from ACK Controls and attended Caveland Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Tina Garmon (Jeff), of Cave City; a son, Dennis Decker, of Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Gavin and Bradyn Decker, Chase Garmon, Preston Decker, Steven Decker, Christopher Garmon and Bryson Decker; her fiancé, Paul Wilson, of Smiths Grove; four sisters, Shirley Crews (Gary), of Glasgow, Mary McPeak, of Merry Oaks, Diane Smith York (Larry), of Glasgow and Ila Vay France, of Wabash, Ind.; one brother, Billy Ray Smith (Gena), of Indianapolis; her former mother-in-law, Evelyn Decker, of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Mae Likens; six brothers, Kenneth, John William, Charles Clifton, Rollin Eugene, Bill and Arthur E. Smith; and her father-in-law, James Decker.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.

Judy Pedigo Franklin

GLASGOW – Judy Pedigo Franklin, 84, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

She was born in Barren County, a daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth Bybee Pedigo. Judy was retired from the accounting dept. at R.R. Donnelley & Sons and loved being “Grandma” to many. She was a member of Glasgow Bible Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Thomas and husband Danny, of Glasgow, Tammy Hearn and husband John, of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren, Angie Thomas Atkins and husband Chris, Kaitlin Thomas, Laramie Hearn and Russell Hearn; one sister, Georgia Glover, of Glasgow; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Pedigo, of Glasgow and Naomi Pedigo, of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Edwin Franklin; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Harlow and Ellen Furlong; and four brothers, Ernest Lee Pedigo, Billy Pedigo, Jim Steen and J.T. Steen.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Careva B. Galloway

GLASGOW – Careva B. Galloway, 94, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013,  at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

Her arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.


Mary Christine Meadows

MONROE – Mary Christine Meadows, 90, of the Monroe Community, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Hart County Health Care Center.

She was a native of Hart County.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Meadows, and her parents Ceph and Katherine Forbis Gosnell.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 until 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 8 a.m. until funeral time on Friday.


Charles ‘Chuck’ Ray Meserole

MUNFORDVILLE – Charles “Chuck” Ray Meserole, 59, of Munfordville, did Monday, July 15, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  

He was born on Saturday, June 12, 1954, in Fairfield, Ill., to Gilbert Ray and Charlene L. Gaston Meserole.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita West Meredith, and his mother, Charlene Meserole, of Albion, Ill.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Farrell and Pastor Jason Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Springs Cemetery at Cub Run. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  

The family request that memorial donations be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

Mrs. Corine Short

ELIZABETHTOWN – Mrs. Corine Short, 78, Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her residence.

The former Cave City resident and native of Russellville was born Aug. 23, 1934, to the late Connie and Mary Sullivan Short. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley Ritter, of Bardstown, Stephen Ritter and Timothy Ritter, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Deborah Sullivan, of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Houston Short, of Florida, Raymond Short and David Short, both of Munfordville; a sister, Joyce Brewer of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services with David Short officiating will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 3 p.m. Thursday.
