SUMMER SHADE — Theresa Ann Candela

GLASGOW — Theresa Ann Candela, 47, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident in Leitchfield.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James and June Werner Carr. Mrs. Candela was a member of the Cave City Christian Church.

 Survivors include her husband, Thomas Candela of Glasgow; three sons, Armando “A. J.,” Joey and Anthony Candela all of Glasgow; four brothers, James, Thomas, Michael and Gary Carr; six sisters, Joyce Rosati, Pat Zeidman, Nancy Hamski, Deborah Carr, Linda Carr and Cheryl Bembischew and several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8  at A. F. Crow & Son funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or for AIDS Research.

Glenn Wayne Garrett

ALEXANDRIA, Tenn. — Glenn Wayne Garrett, 74, of Alexandria, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at St Thomas Hospice Center in Nashville.   

He was the son of the  late Clyde and Wanda Williams Garrett. He was a retired Machinist with Briskin Manufacturing.      

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Garrett of Alexandria, Tenn.; two sons, Daryl Garrett of Edmonton and Anthony (Chris) Garrett of West Chicago, Ill.; two stepchildren, Bryan (Sandy) Culpepper of Springfield, Tenn. and Marlene Handley of Franklin, Tenn.;  one sister, Ruth Word of Edmonton; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a stepson, John Johnson; a brother, Pete Garrett and a sister, Doris Garmon England.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.  Monday, Aug. 8 at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Garrett Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
