OCEANSIDE, Cal. — Arnold Bartley, 79, of Oceanside, CA, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Oceanside.
The Barren County native was the son of the late Ralph Bartley and Clemma Baldock Bartley of the Nobob community in Barren County. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Marine Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Lopes Bartley, of Oceanside; two brothers, Earl and Wayne Bartley, and a sister, Edna Ruth Bartley Botts, all from Glasgow.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise Bartley of Oceanside, and six brothers, Edwin Leroy Bartley and Lawrence Bartley of Glasgow, Larry Bartley and Richard Bartley of Nashville, TN, Gary Bartley of Auburndale, FL and Lance Bartley of Lexington, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family chose cremation and there will be no service locally.
Virginia Isbell Sutherland
MAGNOLIA — Virginia Isbell Sutherland, 83 years, of Magnolia, passed away, Friday, April 22, 2011, at Elizabethtown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of South Fork Baptist Church, a homemaker, and an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Sutherland, a son, Douglas Allen Sutherland, her parents, Cecil E. and Edna Thomas Isbell, a granddaughter, Amanda Sutherland, a great-grandson, Paul Kristian Sutherland, and a brother-in-law, Bob Salsman.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Roberta Thompson of Hodgenville and Lexie Lynn (John) Smith of Tennessee; four sons, Michael Dale (Linda) Sutherland of Elizabethtown, Steven Edward (Sharon) Sutherland of Glasgow, Larry “Henry” Sutherland of Magnolia, and Gwyn Ray Sutherland of Glendale; a sister, Delores Isbell Salsman of Buffalo; ten grandchildren, Sherry Melissa (Bill) Rock, Tim Sutherland, Marty Sutherland, Stacy (Allyson) Sutherland, Shad (Jenny) Sutherland, Gene Beard, Karen (Brian) Smith, Nathan (Jessica) Sutherland, Joshua Sutherland, and Adrianne (Robbie) DeWitt; thirteen great-grandchildren, Bryce Rock, Kris Sutherland, Miranda Sutherland, Timothy Sutherland, Grace Sutherland, Gabi Sutherland, Hayden Sutherland, Kennedy Sutherland, Ella Sutherland, Ansley Sutherland, Ashlin DeWitt, Isaiah DeWitt, and Christian DeWitt; three nieces, Debbie (Tony) Underwood, Tamara White, and Kathy (Steve) McCoy; a sister-in-law, Annabelle Ford Sutherland, and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Norm Brock and Rev. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow in the South Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 until 8 p.m. (EDT) Monday and after 9 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Cheryl D. Miller, 62, Glasgow died, Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Thomas Willis Mullen
EDMONTON — Thomas Willis Mullen Sr., 54, of Edmonton, died Friday April 22, 2011, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
He was an Army veteran and worked for the USDA. He is survived by one son Tom Mullen Jr. of Troy, Missouri one daughter Melissa Jennell Pelly of Edmonton, three brothers Paul Mullen, Rick Mullen, and Mike Mullen all of St. Petersburg, FL. Twelve grandchildren and special dog Tina also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert P. and Thelma Louise Langford Mullen, one daughter Sandy Wilson, and one sister Janet Mullen.
Memorial service will be at Foundation Methodist Church 5 p.m. Monday.
Patricia Lee Schoeck
BONNIEVILLE — Patricia Lee (Galligan) Schoeck, 77, of Bonnieville, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Kensington Manor Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.
She was the daughter of the late Harold Galligan and Paula Galligan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Schoeck.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Home with Brother Bill Rounsaville officiating. The family chose cremation. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
