Ralston Whitney Bewley
SCOTTSVILLE – Ralston Whitney Bewley, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Southern KY Hospice House in Bowling Green.
He was the son of the late Drewie Bryan Bewley and Ruth Whitney Bewley.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville. Burial was in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville.
Shelvy A. ‘Buddy’ Brown
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Shelvy A. “Buddy” Brown, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away Jan. 18, 2014.
He was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Marrowbone, to Herman and Elsie Vibert Brown. He worked for General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Southeastern Church of Christ.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Geraldine Branham Brown; children, Lana (John) Dougherty, Michael (Lee Ann) Brown; sisters, Shirley Ballard, Sue Weems, Eulene Raynor; grandchildren, Michalie, Maleah, Malachi Brown, Jake and Kara Dougherty; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Brown.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Little and Sons Stop 11 Chapel. Burial will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Buddy’s name may be made to the Southeastern Church of Christ Children’s Home.
Sara Coffman Bryant
GLASGOW – Sara Coffman Bryant, 91, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.
She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late William Perry Coffman and the late Mary Woods Richardson Coffman. Mrs. Bryant was a retired social worker employed by the Kentucky Department of Social Services. She was a graduate of Centre College in Danville, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution Edmund Roger’s Chapter and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Glasgow.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Woods Nash (Mike), of Glasgow, Catherine Clark Brantley (Perry), of Glasgow, and Sarah Scott Waterfill (Steve), of Louisville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph Allen Bryant.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday Jan. 21, from 11 a.m. until time for services.
