Charles E. Jones
GLASGOW – Charles E. Jones, 89, Glasgow, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
A native of Hiseville, he was a son of the late William Clarence and Carrie Freeman Jones. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps and worked in the airplane factory in Baltimore. Later, he was an employee of the Allison Corporation in Indianapolis. He was a member of Hiseville Baptist Church and Hiseville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one niece, Delane Youpatoff, of Owensboro; three nephews, Robert Jones, of Louisville, William Jones and Terry Jones, both of Hiseville; one great niece, Melanie Ward; five great-nephews, Jeff, Doug, Chad, Josh, and Adam Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Cox Jones.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Masonic services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

GLASGOW — Ovela Shaw Poland, 83, of Glasgow, formerly of Monroe County, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation is Tuesday 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Tompkinsville. Burial will be in White Cemetery.
HANOVER, Ind. — Shelley Ray Smith, 80, of Hanover, Ind., formerly of Burkesville, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. Burkesville, with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation from 5 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
