GLASGOW — Mary Elizabeth Rutledge Brooks

GLASGOW – Mary Elizabeth Rutledge Brooks, 96, of Glasgow, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 1, 2013.

She was adopted at a young age from a foster home, by the Rutledge family.

She loved her church, Saint Helen’s Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at the hospital and a greeter at Hardee's for several years.  She was a nanny to the Elmore family and she loved volunteering, helping others, she was very kind and caring. She loved to play cards and visit with her friends and family. She was a loving sister, mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Those who knew her loved her dearly.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her son, Roy Douglas, and her grandson, Roy Douglas Brooks Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Mitchell Dunker, of Indiana, her daughter, Mary Mitchell Brooks Oaks (Gary); her two children, Gus Schlueter and Brooks Groves (Amber); and their three children, Audrey, Julianna, and Noah; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Connie Elizabeth Brooks, her three children, Callie Elizabeth Holmes Christian (Quinton), Thomas Douglas Holmes, all of Glasgow, and Morgan Brooks Holmes, of Japan; Laura Brooks Brannen (Lawton), and their son Julian Lawton Douglas Brannen, all of Statesboro Ga.; extended family, Michael and Lisa Elmore, their three children, Dakota and Micha Elmore, and Ashton Elmore Mattingly, all of Glasgow. They thought of her as family and a loving grandmother and called her Meme.

The services will be conducted at her resting grounds, Glasgow Municipal Cemetery, on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. for anyone who would like to come and celebrate her life.

Cleva Nell Emmert Geralds

TOMPKINSVILLE – Cleva Nell Emmert Geralds, 77, of Tompkinsville, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at her home in Tompkinsville.

She is survived by her husband, Truman E. Geralds, of Tompkinsville.

She was the daughter of the late Delbert Emmert and Flora Crowe Emmert.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsvillle.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Mount Poland Cemetery in Monroe County.

Memorials are suggested to Mount Poland Cemetery.



Mrs. Audrey Jennings Judd

ARKANSAS – Mrs. Audrey Jennings Judd, 93, of Arkansas, a native of Green County, Ky., daughter of the late Isaac N. Jeffries and Hattie A. Jeffries, was born on Dec. 2, 1919, and departed this life on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Arkansas.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church, and was a retired Florida School Service employee. She united in marriage to Ralph H. Judd, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Judd Coleman and Zack Coleman, of Edmonton; stepchildren, Brenda McDaniels, Ronnie and Kathy Judd, and Donnie and Gayle Judd, all of Louisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Sue Jeffries, of North Carolina; a sister, Dorothy Jeffries Hayes, of New York; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Judd was also preceded in death by a son, John Mark Jennings; five brothers and a sister, Avery Jeffries, Elroy Jeffries, Othel Jeffries, Lester Jeffries, Chester Jeffries, and Elsie Gowens.

The funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Jennings Judd will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in Judd Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and after 7 a.m. Saturday until time of the funeral service.

Gladys Helen Morrison

GLASGOW – Gladys Helen Morrison, 83, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Ersie Ethel Lyons Austin. Ms. Morrison was a former employee of Mallory Capacitor Company and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by four children, Gary Morrison and wife Enid, of Scottsville, Joan Isenberg, Vicki Morrison and Starla Buckley and husband David, all of Glasgow; a sister, Margie Ann Gentry and husband Charles Wayne, of Etoile; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth E. Morrison, Kevin D. Morrison, Gary D. Morrison Jr. (Crystal Hunter), Cassondra L. Lowe (Randy), Angela C. Morrison, Kenika Withrow (Chad), Tammie Isenberg, April Russell (Drew), Brent Morrison and Tori Buckley; and eight great-grandchildren, Makayla and Madison Lowe, Bretta Stice, Brandy Kelley, Clay and Gavin Withrow, Jentry Bowles and Ellah Russell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cleve Edward Austin, a sister-in-law, Reba Jewell Austin and a son-in-law, Kenneth C. Isenberg.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 5, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until time for the service.

Howard Reynolds

MUNFORDVILLE – Howard Reynolds, 82, of Munfordville, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his residence in Munfordville.

He was retired from the Civil Service, farmer, member and deacon of Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

The Hart County native was the son of the late Curt Reynolds and the late Amy Self Reynolds.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Juanita Rigdon Rey-nolds; one daughter, Marlene Locke and husband Henry, of Munfordville; one son-in-law, Jerry Hornberger and wife Susan, of Munfordville; one sister, Christine "Tennie" Russell, of Munfordville; three grandchildren, Jamie Hornberger and wife Melissa, Jana Poynter and husband Kelly, Michael Locke; three great-grandchildren:, Summer Jewell Hornberger, Jake and Noah Poynter; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Jewell Hornberger; granddaughter, Rebecca Joyce Hornberger; two sisters, Nellie Johnson and Mildred Reynolds; three brothers, Sherman Reynolds, Pete Reynolds, and Wendell Reynolds.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, and from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 5, 2013, at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be noon, Friday, April 5, 2013, with Brother Don Hay, Brother Rocky Morrison and Brother Terry Priddy officiating. Interment will be at Wilkerson Temple Cemetery, Munfordville.

SMITHS GROVE – Ruby Green Russell Woods, 96, of Smiths Grove, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at her grandson's residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
