BOWLING GREEN — Carl Smith, 82, of Bowling Green, went to meet his Heavenly Father, Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Hospice of Southern KY.
The Warren County native was a son of the late Wayne O. and Myrtie Hunt Smith.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Neal Smith.
He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Modern Woodmen and served in the US Army.
Carl retired from Smith Air Compressor where he worked for 29 years and was a people greeter at Walmart on Morgantown Road. He was a people person and will be missed by all who knew him.
His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Hendrick Smith; a daughter, Carla Murphy (Keith); two sons, Russell and Richard Smith; six grandchildren, Clay Murphy, Corbin Murphy, Blake Smith, Hunter Smith, Shawn Russell (Kim), Tracy Mitchell; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Marr (Buddy), and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
