Betty Louise Bryant
HARDYVILLE – Betty Louise Bryant, 75, of Hardyville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Cave City.
Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Green County. She was the daughter of the late Damon Cahoe and the late Dixie Pearl Anderson Cahoe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Bryant; one daughter, Yvonne Wilkerson; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Allen Bryant and John Harvey Bryant.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Sue Carpenter (Gary), Cave City, and Lee Ann Pippen (Larry), Hardyville; two sons, Bill Harvey Bryant (Angie), Edmonton, and Albert Joseph Bryant (Michelle), Hardyville; two brothers, Mitchell Cahoe, Louisville, and Cecil Cahoe, Horse Cave; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Brooks Funeral Home, with Brother Ronald Riordan officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Hardyville.
Jay B. Curtis
COLUMBIA – Jay B. Curtis, 73, of Columbia, formerly of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 25, 1939, in Monroe County, to the late Carlos Curtis and Evie Liffie Rich Curtis. He was a retired butcher for Houchens Industries, a member of Mount Tabor Community Church and an army veteran. He was united in marriage on June 5, 1960, to Shirley Ann Cross Curtis, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2009.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Terri Ellen and Thom Rose, of Huntsville, Ala.; two nieces, Diane Peden, of Glasgow, and Deanie Turner of Augusta, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Xavier and Elizabeth Rose, of Huntsville, Ala.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Creed Curtis and a sister, Alma Marie Francis.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn with military rites performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20, of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville

Helen Staples Haynes Digh
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Helen Staples Haynes Digh, 78, of Lake Charles, La., formerly of Munfordville, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the West Cal-Cam Hospital in Sulphur, La. She was the daughter of the late Jeff Davis Staples Sr. and Mary Beatrice Taylor Staples.
A graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Center Point Cemetery with Brother Kevin Denton officiating. Sego Funeral Home, in Munfordville, is in charge of the funeral services.
