Dewilla Claudette Saffer
CAVE CITY – Dewilla Claudette Saffer, 76, of Cave City, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her residence.
She was the widow of Robert Warren Saffer.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Campground Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Professional services provided by Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City.
Vera Davis Smith
GOOD LUCK – Vera Davis Smith, 90, of the Good Luck Community of Metcalfe County, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Leeper Hensley and Delphia Kinnaird Yates. She was retired from the Metcalfe County School System and a member of Missionary Mound Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean and husband Howard Earl Wilkinson, of Glasgow; son, Wayne (K.O.) and wife Patsy Smith, of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Steven Wilkinson, Kevin Wilkinson, Chris Wilkinson, Lori Fields, all of Glasgow, and Ash Smith, of Franklin; six great-grandchildren also survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wayne Smith.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Carolyn D. Sullivan
GLASGOW – Carolyn D. Sullivan, 87, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Luther and Annis Johnson Dennison and wife of the late Charles E. Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker and a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Martin (Skip), of Jonesboro, Ark.; three granddaughters, Holly Bradley (Todd), of Tennessee and Ashley Martin Waymon and Kacey Lieblong (John), both of Jonesboro, Ark.; eight great-grandchildren; and her special friend and caregiver, Betty Moody.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy C. Sullivan; two brothers, LaVerne Harper and Carroll Dennison; and a sister, Jean D. Smith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time for the service.
