GLASGOW — Vincent Scott Barbour

SOMERSET – Mr. Vincent Scott Barbour made a peaceful transition into God’s care on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1963, in Akron, Ohio, and had achieved the age of 49 years. He had been a resident of Oakwood Community in Somerset.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Sue (Kramer) Barbour, of Glasgow; two brothers, Stephen Barbour, of Bowling Green, and Todd (Melissa) Barbour, of Glasgow; a former sister-in-law, Penny Barbour, of Lexington; four nieces, Lindsey, Alexis, Madison and Hannah Barbour; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore Barbour, Syneth Barbour, Adam Kramer and Marjorie Kramer; and one aunt, Leona Krisher.

A graveside service for Mr. Vincent Scott Barbour will be conducted Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. EST at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton, Ohio, with burial to follow. Pastor Don Gainer will be officiating.

Elvin C. Copass

GLASGOW – Elvin C. Copass, 82, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

He was born in Gamaliel, the son of the late Clarence and Oatie Bledsoe Copass. Elvin was a tool and die maker, a former employee of Sorensen Mfg. and was retired from Potter and Brumfield in Franklin. He also taught machine shop at Barren County Vocational School. After retirement, he and his wife traveled the country extensively in their RV. Mr. Copass served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and he was a member and a deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Glasgow.

He is survived by his wife, Mable Clemons Copass; son, Anthony Copass and wife Sharon, and their son Nicholas, of Glasgow; daughter, Belvia Copass, of Glasgow; a brother, Dr. C. Wyman Copass and wife Glenda, of Bowling Green; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Huelen, Theo, Haskell, Kermit, Burkett and Duane Copass.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
