Mrs. Margaret Shelley Bryant
WATERVIEW – Mrs. Margaret Shelley Bryant, 95, of the Waterview Community near Burkesville, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville.
She was born in Cumberland County, on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1918, the daughter of Curtis and Pauline Keen Shelley. She was a member of Grider United Methodist Church, an active member of Marrowbone P.T.A and Marrowbone Homemakers, a manager for Bluegrass Eggs and was an avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward “Soup” Bryant; her son, Edward Lee Bryant; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Cherry, of Bowling Green, and Janice (and Robert) Ennis, of Greensburg; her daughter-in-law, Betty Bryant, of Waterview; her half-brother and his wife, Curtis Jr. and Margie Shelley, of Glasgow; her grandchildren, Beth Crawley, Becky (and Michael) Ballard, Chris (and Christian) Melton, Spencer (and Nikki) Melton, Allison (and Jodie) Scott and Alan (and Amber) Cherry; her step-grandchildren, Gwen (and Glen) Landis and Jane Kelli (and Corkey) Skaggs; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her caregivers, Catherine Frazier, Debbie Dubre and Joyce Blankenship.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. in the memory chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dutch Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Melton, Spencer Melton, Michael Ballard, Gene Willis, Alan Cherry and Brandon Fletcher.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, until the funeral hour on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Cumberland County Relay for Life, Grider United Methodist Church, Dutch Creek Cemetery or charity of donor’s choice.

GLASGOW – Sally Cosby, 95, of Glasgow, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2014, at NHC Healthcare.
