VANCOUVER, Wash. – Janet A. Barrett, 57, of Vancouver, Wash., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in Vancouver, Wash.

Her arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Kenneth Beard

GLASGOW – Kenneth Beard, 73, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

His arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Thelma Jean Childress

CUB RUN – Thelma Jean Childress, 88, of Cub Run, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at her home.

The Tippecanoe County, Ind., native was the daughter of the late Dock “D.P.” Williams and Mary Eliza Childress Williams and she was married to Brother Lelan Childress for 68 years.

The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Stockholm United Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the church with burial in Stockholm Church Cemetery.

Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Dixie June Durbin

CAVE CITY – Dixie June Durbin, 68, of Cave City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow.  

The Barren County native was born April 24, 1945, to the late Dick Hester and Jane Neely Hester Leonard and was a former owner of a dry cleaning business.  She was the widow of William Durbin.

Survivors include two sons, Kem Ingram, of Cave City, and Rocky Dennison, of Louisville; a daughter, Roberta Harper and her husband Robert, of Glasgow; two granddaughters, Samantha Harper, of Glasgow, and Amber Ingram, of Louisville; four grandsons, Thomas Harper, Troy Ingram, Thomas Russell and Daylan Ingram; four sisters, Mary Lou Carey, of Cave City, Betsy Christy and her husband Terry, of Illinois, Mildred Llewelyn, of Utah, and Carol Hester, of Utah; three brothers, Larry Hester, of Utah, Glenn Hester, of Glasgow, and Ben Hester, of Florida; six stepchildren; one step-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel Leonard and Herschel Hester.

Funeral services, with Wayne Hensley officiating, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Gladys Dockery Hunt

GLASGOW – Gladys Dockery Hunt, 97, of Glasgow, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born at Tracy, the daughter of Crittenden and Rachel Stephens Jones and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil Dockery and Clarence Hunt. Mrs. Hunt was a former employee of Ky. Pants Company and Walmart and was a member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two stepchildren, J.R. Hunt and wife Doris, of Mount Hermon, and Louise Barbour and husband Erroll, of Temple Hill; nine nieces and nephews; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Peggy McDowell

GLASGOW – Peggy McDowell, 77, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

Mildred Louise Snyder Templeman

MUNFORDVILLE –  Mildred Louise Snyder Templeman, went home to her heavenly Father on Monday, Jan, 6, 2014, after a short stay at Hart County Healthcare Center in Horse Cave.

Millie was born in Cub Run, on May 3, 1934. She was a retired legal secretary for Jon Goodman Attorney at Law and a member of Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church in Munfordville.

She is survived by her husband, Noble, to whom she was married two days shy of 49 years; a son, Chuck (Kathy) Templeman, of Munfordville; a daughter, Alisa Maysey, of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Shelli Templeman, Chris, Nat and Abby Maysey; two sisters, Lucille Sturgeon, of Louisville, and Dixie (Charlie) Kraesig, of Tuscon, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Rhoda Snyder, and a brother, Charles “Houston” Snyder.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Chuck Templeman. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Church Cemetery, Munfordville. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home.

GLASGOW — Charles Junior Boldin, 79, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Independent Baptist Church with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

HORSE CAVE — Charles D. King, 86, of Horse Cave, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Winn Funeral Home with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
