GLASGOW — Charles Boldin

GLASGOW — Charles Junior Boldin, 79, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Tazwell, Tenn., the son of Charlie M. and Zora Miracle Boldin. He was retired from General Motors and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Boldin was a member of Bethel Independent Baptist Church in Glasgow.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Glenna; two sons, Charles Richard Boldin of Indianapolis, Ind., and Dennis Vaugn Boldin (Penny) of New Lenox, Ill.; four grandchildren, Joseph, James, Shannon and Maegan Boldin; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Kayley Boldin; one sister, Geneva Robbins of Middleburg; two brothers, J.G. Boldin of Tinley Park, Ill., and Sewell Boldin of New Tazwell, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Bethel Independent Baptist Church with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning until noon at A.F. Crow Son Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church until time for services.

Judy Kay Cherry

SCOTTSVILLE — Judy Kay (Howard) Cherry, 64, of Scottsville, formerly of Fountain Run, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Scottsville.

She was born, Sept. 24, 1949, in Warren County, one of two daughters born to the late John Wallace Howard and Joyce (Dossey) Howard, who survives and lives in Fountain Run.

She married Duel Cherry in June 1967 in Fountain Run.

She was a member of Fountain Run Old Missionary Baptist Church and co-owner of D&H Grocery and Hardware Store in Fountain Run.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 2, at Fountain Run Funeral Home. Brother Tim Eaton officiated and burial followed in Fountain Run Cemetery. Dale and Ryan Cherry, Jimmy Billingsley, Randall Strode, Jeff Browning and Paul Cook served as pallbearers.

Other than her mother, survivors include her husband, Duel Cherry; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tonya Cherry; grandchildren, Megan Copass and John Mark Cherry, all of Fountain Run; and sister, Jane and husband Mike Johnson, of Glasgow.

Donations were suggested to the Fountain Run Cemetery.
