UPTON – Cletis Beeler, 77, of Upton, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
The Grayson County native is survived by his wife, Betty Polston Beeler.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Brother Danny Sallee officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Visitation is in progress and will continue after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until time of the service.
Norma Jean Beason Brown
RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. – Norma Jean Beason Brown, 84, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville.
She was the wife of the late Newman Brown and daughter of the late Molard Beason and Corda Phillips Beason.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, and after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gamaliel Cemetery in Gamaliel.
Memorials are suggested to Gamaliel Cemetery.
Judy Kay Cherry
SCOTTSVILLE – Judy Kay Cherry, 64, of Scottsville, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Scottsville.
She was preceded in death by her father, the late John Wallace Howard.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Lorain (Dossey) Howard, of Fountain Run, and her husband, Duel Cherry, of Fountain Run.
Funeral service was Thursday, Jan. 2, at Fountain Run Funeral Home. Burial was in Fountain Run Cemetery.
Mickey Alan Collins
SUMMER SHADE – Mickey Alan Collins, 59, of Summer Shade, died Dec. 31, 2013, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1954, in Hazard, the son of the late Bobby Gene Collins and Dana Fields Collins, of Indianapolis, Ind., who survives. He married Bonnie Shockley Westmoreland on April 8, 2005.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid racing fan. He cherished his wife, adored his grandchildren and loved his family. He spent his days helping others at L & S Supply. His day was complete taking care of his faithful companion, Ginger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith.
He is also survived by two daughters; Christina (Chris) Zakes and Dana (Ben) Messex, both of Missouri; two stepdaughters, Melissa (Mike) Fulcher, of Smiths Grove, and Monica (Michael) Greer, of Center; one stepson, Willie Dale (Rhonda) Westmoreland, of Summer Shade, and two sisters, Penny (Wayne) Cummins and Pam (Gene) Algood, of Indiana. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Collins; grandparents, Sam and Rachel Fields and Curt and Essie Collins.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at Summer Shade Baptist Church by Brother Chad Harston and Brother Joe Shockley. Interment will be in Summer Shade Cemetery.
Visitation is in progress at McMurtrey Funeral Home and will continue after 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the church.
