GLASGOW — William Patrick Owsley
ELIZABETHTOWN — William Patrick Owsley, 63, died Wednesday Oct. 3, 2012, at his residence.
He was a native of Hardin County, a farmer, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, and was on the board of directors for Hardin County Farm Bureau. He was a deacon and usher; he also worked with 3-year-olds at Cecilia Baptist and Severns Valley Baptist Church. He earned the American Farmer Degree shortly after graduating from high school, which is the highest degree in the Future Farmers of America.
He was preceded in death by his father, David M. Owsley.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Baughman Owsley; daughter, Becca Owsley of Rineyville; son, Jason (Brenda) Owsley of Glasgow; mother, Iva Lee Owsley of Elizabethtown; brother, Larry (Lois) Owsley of Prospect; sister, Karen (Barry) Birdwhistell of Elizabethtown; a step-granddaughter, Tessa Norris of Glasgow; three nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces and five great-nephews.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Severns Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Langley and Rev. Erdie Carter Jr. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continue Sunday after 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Sarah Frances (Bunch) Shockley
BOWLING GREEN – Sarah Frances (Bunch) Shockley, 86, of Bowling Green, formerly of Fountain Run passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, in Bowling Green.
The Farmers City, IL, native was the daughter of the late Charlie Howard and Flossie Victoria (Williams) Bunch. She married her husband of 54 years, Wallace J. Shockley, May 30, 1953, in Andalusia, AL, who preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2008.
Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlyne Ogden.
Sarah graduated from Glasgow High School in 1943 and retired from Washington Overall Manufacturing Company in Scottsville. She was a member of Fountain Run First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the WMU, and the church treasurer for 10 years. She was a 50-year member of the Fountain Run Woman’s Club serving in numerous leadership roles and also a member of the Flippin Homemakers. She was selected Woman of the Year for the Woman’s Club.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Fountain Run First Baptist Church with Brother Hermon Wilkins and Brother Ron Norrod officiating, burial will follow in Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. at Fountain Run Funeral Home and she will lie in state at the church after 9 a.m. Friday morning until service time at 11 a.m.
Her survivors include, children, Vana Vincent (Perry) of Bowling Green, and Dr. Alben Shockley (Joanna) of Owensboro, sisters, Ruth West of Hartwell, GA, Nettie Furlong of Glasgow, Betty Lyons (Earl) of Lutz, FL, and Lucy Gray (Marshall) of Austin; brother-in-law, Bruce Ogden of Groveland, FL; five grandsons, Adam Vincent (Andrea) of Bowling Green, Luke, James, Paul and Bryce Shockley, all of Owensboro; great-grandson, James Vincent; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
