GLASGOW — Joyce Cassady Chism
CAVE CITY — Joyce Cassady Chism, 66, of Cave City, passed away at Glenview Nursing Home in Glasgow, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.
The Louisville native was the daughter of the late William Bennie “W.B.” Cassady and the late Maevonia Doyle Cassady. She loved working with children and was a school teacher for many years. She worked as the librarian at Glasgow Christian Academy for the past six years.
Her hometown was Park City. She was a member of Cave City Tabernacle and The Eagle’s Nest.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wilbur T. Chism Jr., of Cave City. She was the mother of two sons, W.T. Chism III (Teresa) of Bowling Green, and Benjamin Chism (Angela) of Park City, and one daughter, Meribeth Harmon (John) of Summer Shade; grandmother of four, Merileigh Dees, Cahshia Chism, Cohen Chism and Savannah Harmon. She is also survived by one brother, Billy Cassady (Hope) of Park City, and two sisters, Marilyn Cassady of Bowling Green and Paula Cassady of Louisville.
She loved her family and they will miss her so much.
Visitation is noon to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Marcella Vibbert Dodson
SUMMER SHADE – Marcella Vibbert Dodson, 61, of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at the Monroe County Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Era Elmore Vibbert and a member of Cedar Flat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Morris Dodson; three sons, Shane (Bridgett) Dodson, of Summer Shade, Terry Dodson of Edmonton and Steven Dodson of Summer Shade; four grandchildren, Chloe Dodson, Cassie Dodson, Kinsley Dodson and Kyle Dodson; five sisters, Shirley (Bobby) Glover, Dean Harper, Marie (Mack) Warren, Kathy Franklin (Willie Rich), all of Summer Shade, and Barbara (Jim) Crump of Glasgow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Jill Harper, a nephew, James Dubree, and a brother-in-law, Raymond Harper.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Roger Poynter and Brother Nathan Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Summer Shade Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Friday, Oct. 5, at 5 p.m. and continue through Saturday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.
