EDMONTON — Claude Willis Shaw, 84, of Edmonton, passed away in his home in Glasgow in the early morning on Nov. 3, 2012.
Mr. Shaw was born on Feb. 22, 1928. He was raised in the Goodluck community of Metcalfe County, moved to Chicago, Ill., for employment, where he worked at Wabash Fiber Box Company for 23 years. He returned to Edmonton to live and worked and retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons. Willis was an avid outdoorsman and a member of Edmonton Worship Center.
Willis was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Maxine, and their oldest child, Rich; his parents, Claude Melton and Annie Pennington Shaw; one sister, Jewell Shaw; and three brothers, Phillip Shaw, of Glasgow, and Orville and Marvin, who both passed away during infancy.
Mr. Shaw is survived by two sons; Barry (Mary), of Chicago, Randy (Tracy), of Glasgow; and one daughter, Brenda Bartley (Chris); five beloved grandchildren, Bob, Caleb, Moriah, Levi, Jacob; and one sister, Ruby Miller (Charlie), of Hoopeston, Ill.
Visitation will be at Butler Funeral Home on Monday from 2 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at Edmonton Worship Center with the funeral services beginning at 11:00 at the church. Burial will be in Missionary Mound Cemetery.
Danny Steve Short
TOMPKINSVILLE — Danny Steve “Bubba”Short, 50, of Tompkinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, at Commonwealth Reginal Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
Danny was a son of Inez (Young) Short, of Tompkinsville, and the late Jackie Donald Short.
He is survived by his wife, Janie (Parsons) Short.
Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville noon Monday, Nov. 5, with Jason Page officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Lisa Ann Grider Short, of Tompkinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She was the wife of Willis Cleo Short of Tompkinsville and the daughter of Betty Jean Bean Grider, of Tompkinsville, and the late Ed Grider.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Beautiful Home Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
CAVE CITY — Alene Turner, 80, of Cave City, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Trevecca Health and Rehab Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but are under the direction of A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
