CAVE CITY — Robert “Ike” Hatcher, 76, of Cave City, died at his farm on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.
Funeral services with Otis Sturgeon and Billy Vincent officiating will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Bob Hunter Funeral Chapel with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
ROCKY HILL — Lena “Bea” Keith, 82, of Rocky Hill, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Estil Keith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Elizabeth Wilkins Hagan.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church with burial in Lambert Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.
GLASGOW — Ruby Jewell Pickett, 89, of Glasgow, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, in Ann Arbor, Mich., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 3, 1923, in the Randolph Community of Metcalfe County. She was the daughter of the late Edgar L. and Maymie Coffey Shockley. Jewell was married to Orville L. Pickett on June 20, 1942, in Glasgow and he preceded her in death in March 2004. She was a homemaker and stayed at home to raise her children.
She resided in the Randolph and surrounding communities most of her life except for a short time in Michigan (1968-1976) and always referred to Kentucky as home. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Jewell (as she is known by most) enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, frequenting garage sales, and visiting her children and grandchildren, the joy of her life.
She is survived by her four children, Gerald (Mary) Pickett, of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Sandra Jean (Joe) Abbott, of Saline, Mich., Brenda Joyce (Nazareth) Zeitunian of Fort Worth, Texas, and Janet (Jack) Cook of Clinton, Mich.; three sisters, Ruth Pedigo and Geneva Morgan, both of Glasgow, Sylvia Coffey, of Petersburg, Ill.; one brother, Marvin Shockley, of Glasgow, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Church of Christ with ministers Jason Peden and Gary Richardson officiating, burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church of Christ at Randolph.
