GLASGOW – Christine Miller, 86, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Joe Chris and Wallace Moore McGuire.
Mrs. Miller was a former employee of Wal-Mart and Green Leaf Nursery and as a young adult had been employed by George J. Ellis and Ely Drug Stores as well as being a homemaker and helping her husband with their dairy farm. She was a former 4-H leader, a member of the Barren County Republican Women’s Club and a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Robert Miller; three sons, Johnny “John” Miller and wife Karen, of Bowling Green, Lanny Miller and wife Neva Ray, of Glasgow, and Donnie Miller and wife Lori, of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Sarah Bradley and husband Michael, Alan Miller and wife Amanda, Robert Miller and wife Allison, and Whitney Miller; three great-grandchildren, Rosemary and Lucy Christine Bradley and Eloise Miller; two sisters-in-law, Elaine McGuire and Rebecca Brooks and husband Orval, of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Veachel, Mitchell and Ernie Lee McGuire; and two sisters, Earlene Jones and Irene Simmons.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday morning until time for the service.

Lanny Gordon Poynter
EDMONTON – Lanny Gordon Poynter, 64, of Edmonton, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home.
He was an Army veteran and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Gertie Poynter; one daughter, Amanda and husband Tommy Hatcher, of Cave City; one grandson, Seth Allen and wife Donna Hatcher, of Cave City; one great-grandchild, Skyler Hatcher; his mother, Arcola Poynter, of Edmonton; four brothers, Danny and wife Brenda, Jerry and wife Rita, Roger and wife Carolyn, all of Edmonton, Ronnie and wife Angie, of Glasgow; nephew Cole and wife Amber Poynter; and niece Lisa and husband Elton Caffee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellie Vernon Poynter; nephew, Jeffrey Poynter; niece, Valarie Poynter, and his first wife, Sharon Poynter.
