John Luther Byrd
GLASGOW – John Luther Byrd, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at his residence.
He was the son of the late James Corbitt Byrd and Mattie Estell Edwards Byrd. He was a native of Barren County, retired farmer and active member of Big Meadow Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Leah Margaret Cummins Byrd; one son, Philip Byrd and his wife Martha; one granddaughter, Alisha Wyatt and her husband Jason; one brother, Samuel Byrd, of Knob Lick; one sister, Elizabeth Poynter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his eldest son, Richard Paul Byrd; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Brenda Grace Fitzgerald
GLASGOW – Brenda Grace Fitzgerald, 64, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Born in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Clarine Elmore Grace.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas “Fitz” Fitzgerald; two daughters, Charlotte Fitzgerald, of Glasgow, and Bonnie Applegate, of Glasgow; one son, Tommy Fitzgerald and wife Stephanie, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Symone Applegate, Spencer Applegate and Drew Fitzgerald; one sister, Shirley Montgomery, of Glasgow; one brother, William Milo Grace, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Hammon, of North Carolina; along with several nieces and nephews who also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, and on Friday morning until time for services.
Allen Wayne Logsdon
MUNFORDVILLE – Allen Wayne Logsdon, 50, of Munfordville, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave.
He was the son of the late Warren Logsdon and the late Bertha Elaine Dennis Logsdon.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Brother Danny Sallee officiating. Interment will be at Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville.
