GLASGOW — Loryn Yates Atwell
LAFAYETTE, Tenn. – Mr. Loryn Yates Atwell, 80, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away Monday evening, Sept. 10, 2012, at Macon County General Hospital.
Loryn is survived by three daughters, Wynona Clayborne (Eddy), of Haysville, in Macon County, Melinda Downing (Jeff), of Fountain Run, and Audrey Howser (Terry), of Haysville, in Macon County; grandchildren, Wes Clayborne (Whitney), of Haysville, Jenna Downing Yokley (Jeremy), of Fountain Run, Orry Clayborne, of Haysville, Will Downing (Bethany) of Fountain Run, and Clara Howser and Jerryn Howser, of Haysville; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Greenley Clayborne, and Hallie and Hannah Yokley; and a special friend, Jonell Deering.
Funeral services for Mr. Loryn Yates Atwell will be Friday at 1 p.m. from Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Ricky Wilson and Elder Don Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Haysville Cemetery. Visitation will begin from Alexander Funeral Home, Wednesday, from 5 until 10 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from the church at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time.
John Luther Byrd
GLASGOW – John Luther Byrd, 85, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home.
Ewing Donald Graven
SMITHS GROVE – Ewing Donald Graven, 77, Smiths Grove, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Hospice House in Bowling Green.
A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Granville Ellis and Maude D. Witty Graven. He was a retired quality control inspector for DESA, a United States Army veteran and a member of Smiths Grove Christian Church. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Ettie Lee; one daughter, Leann Graven Richards, of Brownsville; one son, David Graven and wife Kathy, of Smiths Grove; three grandchildren, Bethany Richards and Natalee Logsdon (J.B.), all of Brownsville, and William Alexander Graven, of Smiths Grove; one step-grandson, Clinton Elmore (Julie), of Glasgow; one great-grandson, Bentley Richards; one brother, Ewell Graven (Louise), of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
Harry Arthur Munnion Jr.
BONNIEVILLE – Harry Arthur Munnion Jr., 88, of Bonnieville, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at his home.
A native of Lebanon, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry A. Munnion Sr. and Emma Newmaster Munnion. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired mechanic from Trans America.
He is survived by two sons, Harry A. Munnion III, of Bonnieville, and Clyde Hutchens, of Munfordville; one daughter, Karen Sturgis, of Clarksville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; one brother, John Munnion, of New York; and one sister, Joanna Dehart, of Lebanon, Pa.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Sept. 14, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Sego Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen following the viewing.
GLASGOW – Guinn Atwell Shives, 78, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beaumont Methodist Church in Beaumont with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday until time for services at Beaumont Methodist Church. A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
