GLASGOW – William “Red” Belcher, 81, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the NHC Healthcare facility in Glasgow. Born in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Daniel Eugene and Laura Smith Belcher. Mr. Belcher was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and a former employee of the Central Lumber Company and was retired from Sorenson Mfg. and Barren River State Park. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Rose Mesker Belcher of Glasgow; a son, Freddie Belcher (Betty) of Glasgow; two daughters, Patricia Morgan and Kim Belcher, both of Glasgow; a son-in-law, Glen Morgan of Glasgow; a brother-in-law, Tom Mesker (Brenda) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Gloria Smith (Kevin), Sandra Belcher (Mike Mosley), Crystal Morgan (Joe Cary) and Jacob Nahorniak; a step-grandson, Allen Hagan (Nita); two great-grandsons, Mason and Trace Smith; a step-great-granddaughter, Ashley Hagan; a half-sister, Elizabeth Wooten (James) of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Morgan; a stepbrother, Raymond Jackson; a great-grandson, Cornelius Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. James Louis “Lou” Ellis GLASGOW — James Louis Ellis or "Lou Ellis" 82 of Glasgow died Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born February 1, 1927 in Cadiz, KY, his parents Luther and Lois Ellis brought Lou to Glasgow when he was 3 years old. Lou attended high school at Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, TN before going to the Navy during World War II. He attended Centre College in Danville, KY where he played football. Since 1957 Lou has operated his photography studio on the public square. His photography specialty was wedding photography, portraits, passports and photo restoration. Lou loved his work. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Lois Ellis, his wife of 38 years Beatrice Nunie Ellis and a son Adam Forrest Ellis. Survivors include his children Vicki Ellis of Albany, NY, Teri Fulkerson of New Castle, PA, Craig Ellis of Glasgow and Alison Weaver of Arlington, WA; three grandchildren Annelise, Beatrice and Elise and a special friend and caregiver Sheri Eubank of Glasgow. Graveside services will be 12:00pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Sunday 4pm until 8pm, Monday 12pm until 8pm and on Tuesday 10am until Time for services. There will be a Celebration of life service at 6:00pm Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Joyce Huff Harrison GLASGOW – Joyce Huff Harrison, 69, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Medco Center in Bowling Green.
