LOUISVILLE – Warren H. McCaulley, 87, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was a retired principal of Melbourne Heights and Klondike Lane Elementary schools, a former teacher and coach at Southern High School, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a graduate of Western Kentucky University and received a masters degree from Indiana University, a Sunday School teacher, elder and former clerk of session at Beulah Presbyterian Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Southern High School Alumni Hall of Fame and Buechel Masonic Lodge #896. He loved his church, enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and was an avid fan of Western Kentucky University football and basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rush McCaulley on Sept. 18, 2009. He is survived by his children, David (Edith) and Mark (Debbie) McCaulley and Maryanne (David) McKinney; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Adolphs and brother, Roger McCaulley. His funeral was 10 a.m. Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291 with burial in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery. Visitation was 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial gifts: Disabled American Veterans or Beulah Presbyterian Church Christian Education Program. Patricia Lynne Short TOMPKINSVILLE – Patricia Lynne Short, 34, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Tompkinsville. The Monroe County native was born Dec. 18, 1974, a daughter of Willie Coe Short and Carolyn Hurd Short, of Tompkinsville. She was a student at Tennessee Tech Center. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Polly Hurd, of Tompkinsville; a special friend, Ray Wilson, of Cookeville, Tenn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Randy Birge, of Tompkinsville; and two nieces, Makayla and Aleda Birge, both of Tompkinsville. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home and will be officiated by Brother Jimmy Cook with Makayla Birge. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
