ELIZABETHTOWN — Michael John Cilyok, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and retired from Gates Rubber Company after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Virginia Moon Cilyok. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Pedigo Cilyok; four sons: Carey (Carla) Cilyok of Huntsville, Ala., Chris (Tammy) Cilyok of Cecilia, Timothy Shane Matthews of Glasgow and Thomas (Kay) Matthews of Gainesville, Va.; two daughters: Monique Cilyok of Centerville, Ohio, and Marina Kay (Jim) Trochelman of Beaver Creek, Ohio; one sister: Suzanne Johnson of Kettering, Ohio; 10 grandchildren: Carl Michael, Christopher, Alexis and Presley Cilyok, Chad, Shani, Taksin and Tasia Matthews and Josh and Jacob Trochelman; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation was Saturday at Brown Funeral Home, Elizabethtown. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com. Glen Copas TOMPKINSVILLE — Glen Copas, 83, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. He was born in Monroe County on May 17, 1926, to the late Jarrett Copas and Bessie Waller Copas. He was a retired farmer, a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was first married to Irma Christine Birge Copas who died June 1, 1992. He married Mary Z. Rich Anderson on Oct. 8, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Mary Z. Rich Anderson Copas of Tompkinsville; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Charles Doolin of Dry Fork; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Mitchell Curtis of Tompkinsville, Evie and Mike Hopkins of Glasgow; one brother: Douglas Copas of Tompkinsville; two sisters: Bonnie McClard of Fountain Run and Cloteel Turner of Gamaliel; one granddaughter: Lori Doolin of Bowling Green; two step-grandsons: Josh Curtis and Aaron Hopkins; and two step-granddaughters: Julie Curtis and Robin Hopkins. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Marlin and Buford Copas; one sister: Lucille Bartley; and two granddaughters: Jennifer Lois Doolin and Leslie Ann Doolin. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the White Cemetery in Monroe County.
