HARDYVILLE — Calanthe F. Branstetter, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow. She was a native of West Virginia and taught home economics and special education for more than 30 years in the Barren and Hart counties school systems. She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of both the Hardyville and Thirteen Homemakers Clubs for many years and a member of Cosby United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Veva Finley Francis; her husband, Joe Branstetter; two brothers, Jay and John Francis; and one niece, Shelby Davis. Survivors include one daughter: Janie Forbis and husband Larry of Hardyville; three sons: Dr. Mike Branstetter and wife Christy of Shelbyville, Bob Branstetter of Bowling Green, and David Branstetter and wife Denise of Horse Cave; six grandchildren: Melissa Dawn Steger and husband Howard, Ryan Forbis and wife Jessica, Nathan Branstetter, Terri Alsept and husband Aaron, Mallory Forbis and Jay Branstetter; five great-grandchildren: Joshua, Katie, Phoebe, Chloe and Addison; three sisters: Mildred Francis and Kathleen Fraley, both of West Virginia, and Beatrice Pratt of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Cosby Cemetery. Box 176, Hiseville, KY 42127. www.winnfuneralhome.com Wendell ‘Kat Daddy’ Fish BURKESVILLE — Wendell “Kat Daddy” Fish, 52, formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away at his residence in Burkesville on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. He was an employee of T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Survivors include his mother, Janell Davis Fish Lynn, of Tompkinsville; his life companion, Sharon Wolfe, of Burkesville; his stepchildren: Melissa Thurman and Cary Wolfe, both of Glasgow, and Jared Wolfe of Bowling Green; his brothers: William Fish, of Burkesville, James Fred Botts, of Tompkinsville, John Ed Botts, of Gamaliel, and Dennis Ray Botts, of Burkesville; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Wendell “Kat Daddy” Fish will be in the chapel of Yokley-Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 2 p.m. with burial in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation for Wendell “Kat Daddy” Fish at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Local professional services provided by Norris-New Funeral Home of Burkesville.
