GLASGOW — William Forman Payne III, 81, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was a son of the late William Forman Payne II and Nettie Barbour Payne. He was a retired machinist for Sherwin-Williams and Continental Can and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lera Nichols Payne; one son, Frank Payne and wife, Debra, of Dallas, Texas; three daughters: Kay Wright and husband, Kim, of Glasgow, Arnetta Miner and husband, James, of Houston, and Billie Dance and husband, Greg, of Mooresville, Ind.; one sister: Mary Bethel Robinette and husband, James, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Private services for the family was held at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation following. Inurnment will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. www.hatchersaddler.com Laren L. Brathall HORSE CAVE — Laren L. Brathall, 75, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at his home. Mr. Brathall was born in Wilson, Wis., a retired trucking supervisor for American Freight and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brathall; a son: Bruce Arvidson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Brathall was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Margaret Brathall; his daughter, Terri Cook; and his brother, Leonard Brathall. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with burial to follow, under the direction of Winn Funeral Home. www.winnfuneralhome.com
