GLASGOW – Hattie Elaine Abston, 51, of Glasgow died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Clarene Wilson Abston. Mrs. Abston was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Bryan Wood of Glasgow; one brother, Curtis Abston Jr. of Glasgow; one sister, Betty Ballard of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maylo Lynn Abston. The family chose cremation for Mrs. Abston and no services are scheduled at this time. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Rebecca Sue Barbour GLASGOW – Rebecca Sue Barbour, 69, of Glasgow, died Saturday night Aug. 22, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Roy Carl Powell and Christine Owen Powell. Sue was retired from Farmers Rural Electric Co-op Corp. after 40 years. She was a member of Homemakers and the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, John; one daughter, Audra Read and husband Josh of Glasgow; one son, Derrand Hagan of Glasgow; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Barbour of Cave City; six grandchildren; and a brother, Bobby Powell and wife Pam of Florence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
