J.G. Anderson, 86, formerly of Cave City, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in Bowling Green. He was born in Russellville, Ark., the son of the late Frank Anderson and Elizabeth Harris Anderson. He was a retired insurance salesman for National Life Insurance and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of Highland United Methodist Church in Cave City, a current member of St. James United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, and a former member of Cave City Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a son: Greg Anderson (Pat) of Bowling Green; a daughter: Anita Bennett of Greeley, Colo.; grandchildren: Kelly Anderson (Alison), Shawn Michelle Anderson, Stacy Hill (Phillip), Dane Lynch and Bryson Bennett; and great-grandchildren: Tyler Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Hunter Hill and Kennedy Hill. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elinora L. Henderson Anderson. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International. www.pattonfuneralhome.com Thomas Matthew ‘Matt’ Basil - GLASGOW Thomas Matthew “Matt” Basil, 23, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville as the result of an auto accident in Barren County on Saturday. He was born in Glasgow, the son of Rondal Basil and June Finn Bennett. He was an employee of RR Donnelly and enjoyed fishing, hot rods and being a father. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Asher Basil; sons: Waylon Basil and Jacob Wells; a daughter, Jasmine Wells; his father, Rondal Basil (Sheila) of Glasgow; his mother, June Bennett (Chuck) of Glasgow; a brother, Justin Basil of Glasgow; halfsister, Brittany Bennett of Edmonton; step-brother, Michael Bennett (Wendy) of Hiseville; maternal grandmother, Eurma Finn of Glasgow; father- and mother-in-law, Hank and Kim Carnes of Glasgow; brother-in-law, James Arthur Asher of Glasgow; and sister-in-law, Nicole Carnes Christie (Greg) of Glasgow; four nephews and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Junior Finn; and his paternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Basil. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
