GLASGOW — Warren L. Goad, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Tompkinsville, to George and Alice (Emberton) Goad. He was a retired banker from New Farmers National Bank and served 50 years in the banking industry, was a veteran of World War II, a member of Glasgow Baptist Church, Glasgow Rotary Club and Glasgow Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Cleva (Carter) Goad; his son: Richard Goad; his two daughters: Evelyn Culver (Larry) and Barbara Taylor (Ted); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, 801 N. Race St., Glasgow, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. www.hatchersaddler.com Mattie Frances Jessee EDMONTON — Mattie Frances Jessee, 84, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia. She was born Aug. 13, 1924, the daughter of Elvin Romines and Felcy Gibson Romines. She was a homemaker and member of Mosby Ridge Presbyterian Church Surviving are three sons: Wayne (Viola) Jessee of Columbia, Edward (Ima) Jessee of Edmonton, James (Vickie) Jessee of Columbia; two daughters: Linda (Austin) Bragg of Edmonton, Connie (Danny) Phelps of Edmonton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Steve Bragg, Charlotte Young, Jonathan Jessee, Jessica Phelps, Chasity Janes, Brittany Dile, Tommy Franklin and Sheila Franklin, 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Lucille Fields of Columbus, Ind. Mattie was preceded in death by husband, Herman Jessee; father, Elvin Romines; mother, Felcy Romines; and sister, Margaret Rotan Romines.
