Retired Maj. Gen. Robert L. DeZarn
STANFORD – Retired Major General Robert L. DeZarn, 75, of Stanford, formerly of Richmond, Ashland and Lawrenceburg, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Stanford.
Born Tuesday, June 27, 1933, to the late Robert C. and Alma Smyth DeZarn, he was a former shipping foreman of Armco Steel with over 34 years of service to the company. Robert enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard in 1953, entering as a Private and retiring as the Adjutant General of the Kentucky National Guard with more than 42 years of service to state and nation. He served his country as First Lieutenant, U.S. Army, 2nd Battalion, 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment in the Federal Republic of Germany from 1955-1957. A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B.S. degree in Commerce. Robert was a member of the National Guard Association of Kentucky, National Rifle Association and the American Legion Post #34, Lawrenceburg.
Robert leaves behind his wife, Juliane Wiedekamp DeZarn of Stanford; their children, Debra Lynn DeZarn and her partner Carol-Ann Smith and her son James-Michael Smith of Maryland, William Robert DeZarn “Bill” and his wife Cindy of Cincinnati, Ohio, their children, Jenny and Chris DeZarn, Angela D. Todd and her husband Jason of Stanford.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Reed, Chaplain (LTC) David Graetz and Chaplain (CPT) William Draper officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at College Hill Methodist Cemetery in Waco with Rev. Che Haselwood, Chaplain (LTC) David Graetz and Chaplain (CPT) William Draper officiating with full military honors by the Kentucky National Guard. Visitation will be at Fox Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2009, after 5 p.m.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Maxine Hagan, 83, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Fort Sanders-Loudon Medical Center.
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Rev. Dillard Hagan of Athens, Tenn.; mother, Louise Elizabeth Wheeler, and father, John Britt of Glasgow; brothers, Jack, Trulon, Reid, Albert and John C. Britt of Glasgow; sisters, Dinah and Flossie Burd, both of Glasgow.
