GLASGOW — Oma Lugene Bailey, 90, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Summer Shade, she was the daughter of the late Radford Bartley and Rosetta Crabtree Bartley and wife of the late Edwin Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the First Church of God in Glasgow. Survivors include a son: Jimmy E. Bailey (Maxine) of Glasgow; a daughter: Martha Lou Simms of Louisville; four grandchildren: Teresa Mode (Dennis) of Texas, Tracy Nations (Brad) of Louisville, Jeremy Napier (Tinisha) of Austin, and Tara Bailey of Glasgow; nine great-grandchildren: Christina and Ashley Mode, Lucas and Bailey Hill, Jason, Justin and Jennifer Simms, Sierra Napier and Taryn Hicks; and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Olene Matthews (Clifton) of Glasgow; a brother: Turner Bartley (Joann) of Summer Shade; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Simms; a son-in-law, Mitchell Simms; a brother, Otha Bartley; and two sisters, Opal Jordan and Nell Sampson. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Tempest E. England GLASGOW — Tempest Estes England, 81, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Moat and Grace Compton Estes. She was a retired LPN. She worked at Howard Clinic from the mid 1950s until its closing, at which time she became an avid volunteer with the Ladies Auxillary at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Survivors include one son: Gary Blaine England and his wife, Kathleen W. England, of Glasgow; three grandsons: Jarred Blaine England, Dylan Edwin England and Gary Alexander England; her sister-in-law: Sheila Estes; one nephew: Steve Estes; one niece: Glenda Harris; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-great niece. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
