Fannie Moon Lawrence
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Fannie Moon Lawrence, 101, formerly of Barren County, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Lawrenceville.
She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. C.L. “Teen” Lawrence (former pastor of the First Church of God, Glasgow, and also former pastor of Mount Bethel First Church of God, Toccoa, Ga.) and by her first-born son, Raymond Leroy Lawrence; two daughters: Anna Juanita Lawrence Edwards and Rebecca Lawrence Reece; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step-grandchild.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Leon and Diane Lawrence, Tallassee, Ala., Willard and Phyllis Lawrence, Monticello, Ga., Terry and Shirley Lawrence, Woodstock, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Jay King, Lawrenceville, Ga., Barbara Franklin, Easley, S.C., Glenna Medley, Woodstock, Ga., Phyllis and Russell Love, Cornelia, Ga., Rachel Ridder, Canyon Lake, Texas, Waldene and Hardy DeLay, Suwanee, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh Church Cemetery at Railton. Visitation will be Monday, May 4, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Edwards, Cory Edwards, Brock Edwards, Brent Edwards, Chris Lawrence, Mark Lawrence, Shane Samson and Ben Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Edwards, Bruce Edwards, Rocky Edwards, Roger Edwards, Jeff Franklin and Kennedy Samson.

John Morgan Phillips
GLASGOW — John Morgan Phillips, 78, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Bryan Phillips and Dora Davis Phillips. Mr. Phillips was mechanic for J & J Sales in Glasgow and a lifelong farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Beckton Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Hallie Haynes Phillips of Glasgow; two daughters: Rita Bragg of Glasgow and Janet Jones (Jeff) of Smiths Grove; two sons: Donald Phillips (Myrita) of Glasgow and Jeff Phillips (Charlette) of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren: Christoper Bragg, Justin Pedigo, Latasha Jones, Sara Jones, Tyler Jones, Dereck Phillips, Micah Phillips, Jeremy Phillips and Dustin Phillips, all of Glasgow, and Brittany Hurt of Texas; two great-grandchildren: Jayden and Kayden Jones; two brothers: Raymon Phillips (Lora Jane) and Cleatus Phillips (Becky), both of Glasgow; six sisters: Mary Phillips, Pauline Holman, Ella Berryman, Lois Chase and Frances Coulter (Tony), all of Glasgow, and Doris Cherry ( James) of Indiana; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and a special friend, Beth Phillips. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.

EL PASO, Texas — James Howard Allen, 87, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Salem United Methodist Church, 1307 New Salem Road, Glasgow.

LOUISVILLE — Nancy Ann Bishop, 69, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in Servant Valley Church Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 4 p.m. today (Thursday).

GLASGOW — Sid Ray Conatser, 67, died Wednesday April 29, 2009, at his home after an illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Friday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

SMITHS GROVE — Melvin L.D. Flannery, 41, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Friday) at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

CENTER — Susie Garrett, 60, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Ennis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. today (Friday) and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

CYNTHIANA — Elizabeth Thornton Harbeson Lane, 94, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. Memorial services will be conducted 7 p.m. Friday at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be 5 p.m. today (Friday) until time of service. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Licking Valley Campus of the Maysville Community College, First United Methodist Church or charity of choice.
